PermaCover Overview
PermaCover makes it possible for anyone to create the world’s toughest and most durable self-adhesive floor signs, customized with the information you need. While Heskins already produces a wide range of pre-printed warehouse floor signs, our standard printing process is designed for high-volume production. That method keeps costs low for bulk orders but limits flexibility for customers who need unique or individual graphics.
Our solution was simple: develop a material that allows users to produce their own custom warehouse graphics using nothing more than a basic office printer.
Benefits
PermaCover shares all the same qualities customers appreciate in our PermaStripe range- it’s thick, durable, and backed by a powerful adhesive. Like all Heskins products, it’s built for maximum quality and reliability.
Each PermaCover sign is made from a heavy-duty 0.55mm (550 microns) homogeneous transparent film. Around the perimeter, we apply 2” (50mm) wide strips of self-adhesive tape, each 160 microns thick. For comparison, most adhesive tapes only carry around a 10-micron coating- making PermaCover far stronger and longer-lasting.
To use, simply print your chosen design (letter size or half letter, color or black-and-white) on plain paper. Place the PermaCover face down with the pink adhesive liner facing up, remove the liner from all four sides, and position your printed sign face down on the adhesive. Once centered, apply pressure and then press the sign onto the floor, wall, or door surface. The more pressure applied, the stronger the bond. Signs are ready for immediate use after application.
Durable & Versatile
PermaCover custom warehouse signs are manufactured with rounded corners to prevent lifting and a lightly embossed top surface for slip resistance. The crystal-clear film enhances graphics and preserves their color vibrancy.
Although primarily designed as floor signs, PermaCover can also be applied to walls and doors, providing a versatile and tough solution for custom facility signage.
PermaCover makes it easy to create professional-quality signs for floors, walls, or doors, and it stands out as one of the most durable custom sign solutions available today.

PCOV PermaCover – FAQ
What is PermaCover PCOV?
PermaCover PCOV is a self-adhesive protector for creating customized floor signs using a standard office printer. A printed letter- or half-letter-size insert can be positioned beneath a transparent protective cover, creating durable floor signage for warehouses, factories, and other workplaces.
How do I create a custom floor sign with PermaCover?
Print your required text, symbol, or graphic using a standard office printer. Position the printed sheet beneath the transparent PermaCover film, remove the release liners, and press the completed sign firmly onto a clean, dry surface.
No specialized printing equipment is required.
What types of warehouse floor signs can I create?
PermaCover can be used to create warehouse safety signs, directional signs, aisle identifiers, picking-zone labels, pallet-location signs, equipment markers, and operational instructions.
Because each insert is printed internally, the wording, colors, and graphics can be adapted to your own warehouse layout, safety procedures, and visual management system.
Can PermaCover be used for 5S and warehouse organization?
Yes. PermaCover can create customized 5S floor signs for storage zones, tool stations, cleaning areas, work-in-progress, equipment locations, and waste points.
It can also display aisle numbers, bay references, and zone names, helping support warehouse organization, visual management, and workplace wayfinding.
Can PermaCover protect barcodes and QR codes?
Yes. Printed barcodes, QR codes, and warehouse location information can be positioned beneath PermaCover’s transparent film.
Codes should be tested under the actual lighting, scanning distance, and viewing angle before producing multiple signs to help ensure reliable scanning.
What sizes is PermaCover available in?
PermaCover PCOV is designed for printed inserts comparable to letter and half-letter formats, depending on the selected version. Larger inserts are suitable for safety messages, graphics, and directional signage, while smaller inserts work well for warehouse location labels, equipment identifiers, and compact work areas.
Can PermaCover signs be used on floors, walls, and doors?
Yes. PermaCover can be applied to suitable floors, walls, and doors. This makes it useful for floor signage, warehouse wayfinding, room identification, equipment information, and operational notices.
The application surface should be clean and dry to achieve effective adhesive contact.
How durable is PermaCover?
PermaCover uses a 0.022-inch (0.55 mm) transparent homogeneous plastic film with a strong adhesive perimeter. Rounded corners help reduce edge lifting, while the mildly embossed upper surface adds texture and helps protect the printed information underneath from everyday workplace wear.
Its durability will depend on the application surface, traffic, and how the area is used.
How quickly can PermaCover be used after installation?
PermaCover can be used immediately after application because no paint, adhesive curing, or drying period is required.
For the best adhesion, apply it to a clean, dry surface and press firmly around the complete adhesive perimeter after positioning.
